Fiscal knowledge meets community insight

As a “charity that helps charities”, The Kitchener and Waterloo Community Foundation (KWCF) has been making a lasting difference in their community through grants for several decades. In their new partnership with the Community Forward Fund (CFF), The KWCF has added a new way for local organizations to build on the important work they do.

Through this partnership, The KWCF will provide loans and other financial services to charities and nonprofits. Recently The KWCF, along with the Lyle S. Hallman Foundation, conducted a survey to gauge interest in loans by nonprofits and charities in the region. The response was enthusiastic so they hosted an education workshop in October where several local nonprofits and charities learned about the opportunities this partnership provides through the provision of loans and financial coaching.

The KWCF CEO Rosemary Smith states, “Our region is known for its innovation. We are pleased to be involved in this new initiative that allows us to support nonprofits and charities (and the communities they serve) by providing new ways to help them thrive and grow”.

Nora Sobolov of CFF adds, “We are thrilled to partner with The KWCF. Their commitment to growth and vitality in the region is inspiring and we are looking forward to the exciting prospects this partnership brings.”
